Rental qualifications and requirements
Use of vehicles
All Hertz, including 4 wheel drive (4x4), must be driving only on paved roads.  The use of vehicles outside of paved roads is a violation of the rental agreements Terms and Conditions.
Age restrictions and exceptions
The minimum rental age is 25 years old.
Drivers between the ages of 23-24 are allowed to rent up to a mid-size vehicle and will be subject to a $15.00 in compact vehicles and $25.00 per day on all other vehicles surcharge.  All underage renters must be cardholder’s of any major credit card.

Authorized and additional Authorized Operators
Additional drivers may be added to the rental at a cost of USD $13.00 per day. The minimum rental age for the Authorized Drivers will be the same as the renter.  All Additional Authorized Drivers are required to be registered in the rental agreement.

Driver´s License
A valid driver's license from your country of residence, or an international driver's license must be presented at the counter.

Loss Damage Waiver – LDW

In the event of any  loss or damage to the car, regardless of fault, your financial responsibility extends to the full value of the car at the time of rental,  plus expenses for towing, storage impound fees, an administrative fee, legal fees and a reasonable charge for loss of use.

We offer the option that reduces the customer's responsibility,   Loss Damage Waiver – LDW, up to the deductible of the vehicle (non waive able ($975 - $1500) for damages and $2,000.00 in case of theft of vehicle.  A deposit of USD 1,500.00 to USD 2,500.00 on a guaranteed credit card will be required at the beginning of the rental.  If no accidents occur the amount held will be released.

If LDW is  declined, the customer will be responsible for the full value of the Hertz vehicle. 

If LDW is declined, we will ask for a deposit on credit card for the amount of $5,000.00 - $10,000.00 USD for any damage on rented vehicle.

LDW does not include damages to the interior, antenna, sound equipment, tires, rims. or windshields, nor any charges for tow, gas, storage, legal fees  or loss of use.

The cost of LDW may vary depending on location or car type and is charged per each full or partial day of rental.  The LDW cost and non-waive able excess (deductibles)  varies by vehicle type:

Economy  and Compact cars USD $10.00 - 15.00 per day with a non-waive able excess of USD 1,200.00

Standard Car , Full size Car, Intermediate Car , Luxury Car  USD $16.00 - $21.00 per day, with a non-waive able excess of USD 1,800.00

Theft Protection - TP - is not available for purchase.  It is included in the LDW.  Theft Protection is a service which reduces the customer's financial responsibility for the loss of, the Hertz vehicle due to theft, attempted theft or vandalism - including parts and accessories with a non waive able deductible of $2000.00 If LDW is decline, Customer is fully liable for the value of the car if it is robbed.

Police report is required  for all collisions and immediate notification must be made to the Rental Company as per Folder Jacket instructions issued at time of rental.
The following will be charged in addition to the non-waivable excess:

Administrative Charge - USD 350.00 to cover legal costs, cost of processing quotations for repair, tickets, insurance claims, or other charges derived from the accident or damages to the vehicle.

Loss of Use - To compensate Hertz for the loss of the rental income while the vehicle is being repaired.

Towing Charge - if the vehicle must be towed.

Personal Accident Insurance

Liability Damage Waiver LIS

If accepted, it is available at a cost of $12.00  - $18.00 per day depending on vehicle car class.

This will increase your liability coverage from the minimum $15,000.00 to $100.000.00 per incident.
If LIS is declined, we will ask for a deposit on credit card for the amount of $5,000.00 - $15,000.00 USD for any damage to third party or damages to the property involved in any accident..

We do not accept any insurance from foreign company or bought thru a third party website or company.

Forms of payment
Acceptable credit cards:   American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Diners Card, Hertz prepaid vouchers.
                                                           

Refueling Options

Hertz has three refueling options available to meet your needs:

  • You may purchase a tank of gas from Hertz at time of rental and return the vehicle with as little gas as you prefer.  Please be aware that we are unable to issue a refund for unused fuel.  However, this method eliminates the need for you to refuel the tank prior to returning.

 

  • You can let us refuel for you and only pay for the fuel required to replace the fuel you used, and for the service and convenience of refueling the tank.
  • You can stop and refuel the tank yourself, immediately prior to returning the vehicle.

Additional services
Other charges

  • Airport concession Fee 14%

 Airport Concession Fee Recovery (ACFR) - This fee is to reimburse Hertz for concession fees paid to the airport for each rental.

  • License Plate Fee

Vehicle Licensing Cost Recovery - This fee is for Hertz' recovery of the proportionate amount of vehicle registration, licensing and related fees applicable to a rental. $1.99 per day

  • Energy Surcharge

Energy Surcharge - The costs of energy needed to support our business operations have escalated considerably.  To offset the increasing costs of utilities, bus fuel, oil and grease, etc.,  Hertz is separately imposing an Energy Surcharge. $0.49 per day

GRACE PERIOD
Rentals have a grace period of 59 minutes.

Optional coverage do not have hourly charges/grace period, but are charged as a full day.

Extra hour charges will be incurred at the 60 minute mark if the vehicle is returned more than 59 minutes past the original rental time.
